Autism Assessments

2025 Autism Assessment Update:

Thinking about an Autism assessment can bring up a lot. Fear, uncertainty, curiosity, maybe even relief. I get it. In a time where privacy doesn’t always feel like a guarantee, you deserve to know that your information is safe. And that you are safe!

When you work with me as a private provider, your assessment stays between us. I don’t bill insurance, and I don’t share your information with doctors, employers, or anyone else without your explicit consent. Your neurodivergence is not mine to disclose. It belongs to you.

Many of the people I work with are seeking clarity, not a label. They’re looking to understand their brains better. To make sense of the overwhelm, the masking, the burnout. You don’t need a reason beyond that. You’re allowed to want answers just for you.

If you’re worried about who will find out, the answer is simple: no one. Not unless you decide to share it.

If you’re ready to explore your neurotype in a way that’s affirming, respectful, and private, let’s talk.

“If a label’s helpful you should use it.”

In the words of the fabulous Jude Perl, “Sometimes labels are the key to identify your identity.”

Clients who are seeking formal testing for Autism Spectrum Disorder can participate in a clinical assessment. Please see “What is Autism” for more information. This process typically takes 4-5 hours to assess and one hour to review. Clients will engage in a dialogue with the therapist exploring target areas that would be affected by Autism. Parents and/or significant others (when possible) are encouraged to be a part of the diagnostic process.

This assessment will include areas such as developmental history, family relationships, social history, childhood, and other relevant experiences. This data will be used to establish whether or not the client meets the diagnostic criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder. Clients will receive a formal written diagnosis, as well as documentation outlining the qualifying criteria. Any follow up documentation necessary for accommodations is included as a part of the process. Clients should consult with the therapist prior to testing to explore all available testing options. The clinician will advise clients on the most appropriate testing method to meet their needs.

Autism Assessments are $250 per session. Although the average number of sessions is 5, this number varies by client.
