Unmask with us!

Unmasked & Unplugged: A Retreat for Autistic Adults
Now planning our February 2026 retreat on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

Uncover your authentic self alongside Autism enthusiast, Kory Andreas. Imagine four days of peace, connection, and total authenticity, where you don’t have to explain yourself, mask your quirks, or navigate the unspoken rules of Neurotypical spaces. The Unmasked & Unplugged retreat is designed to give you the freedom to just be.

This retreat is all about creating the kind of environment where you can finally exhale. Surrounded by nature, quiet moments, and sensory-friendly spaces, you’ll experience the magic of Neurodivergent intersubjectivity: that rare, beautiful connection that happens when you’re with people who truly get you. Here, conversations go straight to the good stuff, whether it’s an info-dump about a special interest, a shared love for parallel play, or comfortable silence that feels as meaningful as any words.

In this space, connection and autonomy coexist beautifully. You’ll have time to explore the outdoors, enjoy incredible meals prepared with care, and choose exactly how much socializing, or solitude you need. There are no performance expectations, no forced small talk, and no obligations. Just you, being fully yourself, surrounded by a community that feels like coming home.

This retreat is a chance to tune into what true safety and acceptance feel like, so you can take that feeling home and rebuild it in your everyday life. Come as you are. Rest, reset, and leave with a deeper sense of who you are when the mask comes off.

Your place at the table is waiting. Will you join us?

Retreat “Season 3”

“This retreat was an incredibly affirming experience. Kory and Ethan went above and beyond to make sure we felt supported & needs were met, which set the tone for the weekend.

Receiving so many sponsored gifts & the Unmasking workbook to bring home was an unexpected bonus! I loved that every activity was optional and I could step away as needed, without pressure or judgment. I felt understood and accepted in ways that are so rare in everyday life. It was, honestly, the most comfortable I’ve ever felt in a group setting”

Retreat “Season 3”

“The diagnosis process is extraordinarily lonely and isolating. Being around a group of people that have been through similar experiences is the perfect medicine to help realize you aren’t alone, and you’re still “normal.”

Retreat “Season 3”

“This retreat has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my adult life. This past weekend recharged me and inspired me and shook my view of the world in the best way.”

Retreat “Season 1

“Instead of feeling drained of all life, I feel fuller.”

Retreat “Season 1”

“I am SO glad that I went, even though it would have been easy to make excuses and avoid something that felt that uncomfortable in it’s very essence lol.

The groups’ vulnerability was key, Kory's included. I think that hearing about everyone else’s insecurities and seeing how brave they were all being allowed me to drop my guard as the weekend went by. I had so much more in common with everyone than I would have thought – I am used to feeling ostracized in groups and that just did not happen, at all. It was refreshing, inspiring, energizing. (And it takes a lot for me to feel energized by anything lol). I feel like I left with friends. Real, genuine people who I can talk to and be real with. And they live pretty close by! It has been a very, very long time since I have made new friends.”

Retreat “Season 2”

“I have a lot of quirks that I hide. I said before this, I have no interest in friends, I was sure of it.  I realized here so many of the connections and intimacies I’m missing.  Sharing life experiences. I can’t put it into words.”

Retreat “Season 2”

“There’s so many times when I’m in a situation and my body is telling me this is too loud, or too much.  The thing keeping me there is embarrassment, or societal norms.  To be in a situation when I was thinking, “I want to be here,” was refreshing.”

Eastern Shore Unmasking Retreat

Waterfront peace, learning, self-exploration, and relaxation in a BEAUTIFUL house with other Neurodivergent brains!

Would love to see you there…but first, a personal, creative, and fantastical theatrical invitation to join us at our next retreat or our new Neurodivergent Adventures!

The footage used here is from the rehearsal of “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman, a performance that captures the raw emotion of stepping into one’s truth. I’ve paired it with my own reflections to draw a parallel between the power of this moment and the experience of Autistic unmasking.

For many late-diagnosed Autistic adults, unmasking is a profound and emotional process, one that mirrors the fear, vulnerability, and eventual liberation shown in this video. My intention is to highlight that transformation through a new lens: not for profit, but for education, awareness, and community connection.

This use is non-commercial, educational, and deeply transformative in nature. All rights to the original video and music belong to the creators of The Greatest Showman.

If this video resonates with you, you’re not alone. Keep scrolling….let’s get to the good stuff that’s in store for this retreat!
