Buy these. Just please, buy these.

So so so so many of my clients find that following an Autism diagnosis in adulthood that they are SHOCKED at how much sensory sensitivities contribute to shutdowns, meltdowns, dysregulation, and a sense of bodily pain and overwhelm.

Hold on to your headphones. YOU NEED THESE!

We have all used noise canceling earbuds and headphones before. they help, but they also cause you to entirely check out of whatever’s happening. Loop Engage changes all of that. They filter out the “icky noises” (says me) and allow you to hear the conversation around you. You can interact with family, shop in a store, maybe even focus on just the conversation at your table at a restaurant with SIGNIFICANTLY less “other” noise. And for $27 on amazon, you can have them at your door…like today.

They are minimally noticeable in your ear, so if you are looking for something to notify your family or people in public that you are “not feeling chatty,” I wouldn’t recommend them. But if you want a discrete way to remain at the dinner table when you’re spent for the day and your family is super loud…this is IT!

For me, sound sensitivities can take my mood from “ok” to “go away” REALLY quickly. This sucks if you need to work, care for your kids, or do basically anything. Especially when staying at other people’s houses, or when you’re trying to be “not so upfront” with your sensory or other Autistic needs. I like that I can wear these without drawing attention to myself, or having to leave a loud environment.

High five to the loop people. I see that they have just come out with new, fancier versions of these that give you a silent mode too. Sounds great to me. But my money is always on the Loop Engage for everyday use!

I’ll be wearing these alllllll through the holidays!

*whispers Cheers!

Cool Stuff to Make Life Easier!

Karens for Hire

“We Karen, So You Don’t Have To.”

A site that will handle the “injustices of life”.

I’ll just drop this here from their site….

“We are taking the power back in all aspects of people’s lives. We believe that you shouldn’t have to pay a lawyer thousands of dollars to correct a small injustice. In most cases, you don’t even need a lawyer. But, what choice do you have? We believe that gives corporations the upper hand and they exploit it to line their pockets. The cost of fight usually outweighs the problem and they calculate that you will just accept it, and move on. That is no longer the case.”

You had me at “we’ll make that call to insurance companies for you.” I’m giving them a try. Stay tuned!
